After Droga5, I freelanced as Lead Writer for two years at Google Creative Lab. I worked directly with a Product Team, collaborating with product and UX designers and developers. It was a step removed from marketing and gave me the brand side bug. Here are two of my favorite projects from that time.
Google I/O
Hello Morse brings a 200-year-old alphabet to smartphone keyboards everywhere. To most of us, this may sound like a neat novelty, but this project represents life-changing access to a powerful means of self-expression for hundreds of thousands of non-verbal people like developer Tania Finlayson.
As Creative Lead, I was in charge of the story. I wrote launch collateral, named the project, and creative directed the film which became the standout moment during Google's biggest event of the year: the Google I/O keynote address. You can watch Tania's story here.
BRAND
Me too rising
We wanted to honor the Internet’s role in igniting the global phenomenon “Me Too.”
This visualization used Google Trends to incorporate real-time Me Too headlines from all over the world, serving as a helpful research tool and beacon of hope, proving that change can reach and illuminate all corners of our globe. Please explore the experience here. As Creative Lead, I developed the name, wrote the copy, and informed the visual identity.
